I obey. My wife will not allow me to drive.

She wants me to drive even though I can't. She gives me hell when I say I CAN'T DRIVE.

That sounds downright dangerous. I suggest you ask your neurologist to meet with you and your wife. Is this possible?

I understand. My husband will also make no consessions and insists I'm getting better because I never mention it any more. (ive never said a word since he told me I complain all the time which was just untrue).

It's a real worry as it's clear they won't be any good looking after us when we get worse.

Sorry I have no solutions - just sympathy. Beckys idea is a good one though - does your wife go to appointments with you?

How long have you had PD and how old are you?

I had an uncaring partner. The future looks much brighter now that that relationship is in the rear view mirror. Not telling you or anybody else how to proceed, just offering my own personal story.

I hear you! Unfortunately the energy required to move on is too much for me. Should have done it years ago as now I lack the emotional strength.

I envy people who have the courage of their convictions.

Does your wife drive?

On the one hand, she might be trying to encourage you to do something she feels you need to do!

On the other hand she should remember that when you got married, she had agreed to the following, "In sickness and in health, etc.". This could be her with the Pd and she would expect you to be understanding.

The truth is seldom either the one extreme or the other. It is usually somewhere in the middle.

Talk to her!

Are DVLA aware of your diagnosis?
