I don't have any serious pain meds, but I do have Bentyl that I take several times a week. Sometimes they help, sometimes not.

Hi grannywantssteak , I hope your pain is manageable taking Bentyl a few times a week. I don’t know that particular painkiller but hope it keeps things at bay enough!

If it’s not enough can your doctor prescribe you something a little stronger?

I don’t get much pain anymore although got something random going on these past 8 months and don’t know what it’s related to…pain under my left breast bone and nausea and lots of weight loss, but my consultant said apparently not my pancreas so I don’t really know.

Haha, I’ll stop rambling on!

I have been lucky, in a way. I haven't had the horrible pain that some experience, but I do have constant nausea and sickness. I have a combination of Chronic Pancreatitis, Diverticulitis and IBS-M. Weight loss is a real problem that I struggle with. When I was young, I always wanted to loose weight, and now I struggle to stay around at least 108 lbs. Just coming out of a flare-up that even water made me sick.

Strange? that in October 2018 bringing up bit of pancreas, and blood, in hospital for a week, any food in that time, spew🤮 they scanned me "pancreatitis diagnosed!" but not a drop of alcohol since then, no pain now at all [as far as that part of me is concerned?] no repeat performances😗

Really happy for you that you no longer have any pancreatic pain 😀.Hopefully it doesn't recur again.

In the scared period now, scared of drinking any alcohol, scared of the indistinct diagnosis the medical professionals have given me, scared of what could happen next?, [I could almost see them scratching their heads when looking at my MRI, X-rays, scans, tests etc], but "pancreatitis diagnosed!" [that covers a lot of "things"] most unsatisfactory!🥴

Hello, I know how you feel. I was diagnosed with acute chronic pancreatitis 3 months ago & they're struggling to find a reason! I have never drunk alcohol, I have no gallbladder. They seem to 100% want to find out why has this happened? I still can't tolerate food.

But, hopefully it'll work out well 🙏
