Why is this killer cancer so underfun... - Pancreatic Cancer...
Why is this killer cancer so underfunded? i have been given a death sentence with this horrific cancer , 40 years and no nearer a cure , WHY
Hi Cath
I share your views. My husband's mum died in 1969 of this cancer at age 27 and my husband died in 2009 aged 48......their deaths were 40 years apart but yet the prognosis was the same for both of them. I do hope you have good support around you Cath to help you fight your battle and to help ensure you get the best options available to you. I know that, in the main, the stories you read of PC are dreadful but when I was researching during Kevin's illnes, I did come across and odd positive story where the patient had defied the odds and I always clung onto the hope that Kevin might be one of those stories. Sending you very best wishes for your future treatment Cath.

Unfortunately pancreatic cancer is often not diagosed until it is too late. awareness of symptoms seems to be the key, especially for GP's.
My dad passed away after going through the ordeal of an aortic valve replacement. We believed as a family that he had been given a second chance only to find at xmas 2010 that he had pancreatic cancer which had spread and was terminal,he lost his brave fight on may the 3rd 2010,so desperately missed by us all.
It as to get more research so it is found before it becomes terminal gps and specialists have got to be more aware of the symptoms . This is peoples lifes .
Hi Cath, sorry to hear your sad news, My mum has been recently diagnoised with it too, aged 68, were 3 months down the line now, and start next chemo session tomorrow, I have been told that cancer research Uk are going to be funding more in the near future ! It is definitely difficult to diagnoise, stay positive, were all here for you on the "Blog site" thinking of you ! PMA positive mental attitude, that's what we keep telling mum xxx
