Tinnitus can be due to a tight muscle on the jaw. Dentist is possibly a reasonable port of call for checkup to see if jaw has not gone out of alignment. There are youtube videos on chiropractors fixing tinnitus.

googled "tinnitus chiropractor college"

Thanks John. My problem originates with a hole in my middle ear where the canal normally has liquid in it, but since the hole does not allow liquid and is dry sound waves vibrate causing a resonating head in a barrel hearing plus constant ringing. Because of this I also can not watch movies with background music or listen to someone speaking with noise in back ground. Star Wars for example has back ground theme playing in every scene and I can not hear dialogue. Doctors have told me live it

Most tinnitus solutions, and there are few, are non-surgical unless the tinnitus is caused by something in the ear that can be addressed surgically which is rare. Unfortunately, tinnitus (which I developed about 3 years ago) does not have a "cure" or magic pill. For some people, it goes away on its own over time for no apparent reason. I know a girl who had tinnitus for a few years and then it suddenly went away and she did nothing to bring that about. I am reading a book now which suggest tinnitus may be caused by a virus (EBV) that gets into the small crevices of the ear (e.g., cochlear) and upsets the nerves causing the "ringing" sound. The book suggests treating the virus mainly through nutriotional intervention (e.g., monojuices like organic celery juice). I am currently trying this treatment which could take months to a year of dedicated nutritional intervention to take effect and I am prepared to accept that it may not work. I believe my tinnitus came about during a stressful period that I am still dealing with caused by a "failed" back surgery which left me in chronic pain of the nerve kind (burning, diffuse dysethetic pain in my feet and lower legs). I was sent to pain management and prescribed the usual gamut of pain meds and other mostly noneffective drugs to "manage" the pain. I believe some of these meds caused my tinnitus as they have ototoxic properties (i.e., toxic to the ears). Tinnitus is one of those conditions that an ear doctor, ENT or otolaryngologist will tell you there is no treatment and to use whitenoise in the background to mask the ringing. I do this, especially at night when I am in bed. I listen to podcasts (no headphones) or a police scanner (Chicago is the best locality to listen to as it has the most police activity). I hope this helps. If anyone has solutions or experiences with tinnitus, please share. I hope one day, my tinnitus just goes away like it has for others. I would like to know if this was the case with others who have had tinnitus longer than a few days or weeks. Short term tinnitus (after going to concerts or loud venues) does tend to go away but people should use hearing protection (ear plugs) if they go to many loud venues becuase, over time, the ears will become damages. Also, with the advent of smartphones to listent to music and other things with headphones, I am afraid more people will get hearing damage leading to chronic tinnitus as one cause of tinnitus is hearing loss. I hope this helps. Good luck! JT

Due to a head injury I had I’m january and damage to my inner left ear I also got tinnitus and they recommended me a hearing aid with a built in sound generator to distract you from the buzzing, it does work and if you suffer from hearing loss it also does help with that aswell

Thank you. I did wear a hearing aid for three months with no relief. Maybe is should try now that I’m older. I’ve had symptom for 23 years
