Ok, has your gp said what he/she suspects it to be.? I see a rheumy on a regular basis. They're likely to take bloods, and may do other non-invasive tests, but unlikely right away.

If I were u I'd definitely write down all the thingsu want to ask, as your nervous you'll likely forget the most important stuff lol. I've been where u are.

Ah so they are looking at RA then. Unfortunately I don't have experience with that as I've got raynauds and systemic sclerosis.

The writing stuff down is always really useful though. If your pain is really bad ask to be referred to a pain doc asap.

Hi I have RA in both my carpel tuneles and ankolosing spondylitis in my spine. Whilst I'm now refusing Meds due to a bad experience (I take moringa and cod liver oil and use arthritis gloves from amazon), measure when you are in pain on a scale of 1 to 10 and when it occurs..morning afternon etc. It may help them diagnose you quicker. If referred to the hospital you may need to take blood tests to measure your RA levels. Once on Meds be prepared for regular blood tests. You maybe offered Disease Modifying Drugs. I would Google the ones they offer you and note side effects. I'm doing great on my alternative therapy which includes regular gym and no carbs, alcohol or smoking but don't want to put you off your medical experience. It's works for most but not me..my liver does not cope well. Good luck, the drugs do work but the side effects must be monitored. And try to keep moving..pilates is great. You Tube pilates for arthritis and try downloading apps to excercise your hands regularly. All the best and I hope the drugs work for you. If not try alternative therapy. So far I'm 3 stones lighter and my back not longer hurts and my hands rarely swell. I been off all medication since July.

Not what you're looking for?
