To be honest, no one has prescribed me anything for the pain! I was given 500mg Naproxen twice daily when the GP sent me to the first rheumatologist as I had raised inflammatory markers, but he did more bloods and said to stop taking it! The second rheumatologist said I may have fibromyalgia, but I'm still awaiting blood test results to confirm no inflammation. In the meantime, I am self-medicating with a variety of codeine-based drugs whilst I wait to see what the disgnosis is, and book in to see my GP to prescribe something! Constant pain for 11 months and counting!

a lot of doctors think they know it all, ive had many an argument in hospital ie what strenght of DF 118 are you on i say 40mg they say there's no such thing, the look on there face when i show them the container is a picture to behold. it shouldn't be a battle with doctors but why does it feel that way. if it wasn't for patients they'd have no job just paper work. Ah feel better now iv'e had a bit of a rant.

I have a first rate GP, I feel that I can talk with her, and she does not rush me but listens and between us with a little tweaking we seem to have got the medication right and mostly I seem to be on an even keel, except if I have a major "flare" which I do still experience, but with time and education these things all fall into place if we are positive and it is important to build up a good relationship with the Health Providers,

i have several serious health issues, Aschemic Heart disease (Spastic Angina) OA from my neck and shoulders to my toes (including Bursitis), Type 2 Diabetes, Obstructive Sleep Apnea and urinary incontinence.

for all these i attend the correct consultants who i find very good and caring - all except the arthritis. i attend one hospital for neck and shoulders, one for my spine and another one for my legs. I have asked the consultants can you not examine all of me and they can only examine the part that you are referred for. crazy i know and i have decided that i want my gp to refer me to one place, has anyone else suffered this madness.

I have a VERY good Consultant, Dr Andi, who is based at The Ipswich Hospital. Dr Andi is well aware, of 'All Things Vasculitis'. He is also Friendly, Informative and takes a genuine interest.

It is perhaps unusual to recommend a Consultant but I have, absolutely no hesitation, in this case! I am also under Addenbrooke's, for yearly 'Check Ups'.

In Addition, yes there's more, I am regularly checked, again at Ipswich, by Dermatology. (I get a lot of Skin Tags, Lesions, Growths and so forth.)

In short, not withstanding, digestive problems (most notably Constipation, or soiling, 'odd' wetting incidents....all the 'Normal' stuff) odd pains, don't we all, and so on........I really can't complain, too much anyway.

I live in Supported Housing, in any case, and our Staff are excellent as well.

Overall I DO feel that my Condition IS, in reality, as Well Managed as it could be. In this respect I am 'Very Lucky'.

Clearly NOT Lucky to have Vasculitis...........!
