Have referred my case to an MDT on Friday, does this mean they think it's cancer.

I am sure they are ruling out the possibility. They wont know anything until they operate.

Best of luck hope it all goes well.

Hello there. What a worrying time for you. Who knows what Drs think and really what only matters is what they know and they won't know anything yet.

The important thing is that after Friday there will be a plan. It's tempting to go too far down a particular road in your mind- try to resist!

All the very best. Xxxx

I take it you have had a scan already. The idea of the MDT is that a few of the surgeons along with the oncology team look at a persons scan results and bloods and they decide together what is the best way to approach your case. That way its more than one doc opinion and together they come up with the best treatment options for you. Its very scary being told that your case will be reviewed by the MDT. I have been there and gone back for the results. It is a good idea to bring someone with you when going back to consultant for the results as sometimes its is hard to take in all the information being given to you. I was first diagnosed in 2005/2006 and I can tell you the treatments available to combat Ovarian Cancer if it turns out to be that are first class now. Ovarian cancer can now be regarded as a chronic illness rather than something worse. Hope this helps you

Hi., Please dont worry about the MDT, as this is the normal practice now when any diagnosis is made - it is to ensure that the best course of action is taken - whether surgery, chemo or radium first given, and if any or all of those options are needed. An ovarian mass does not always mean ovarian cancer. So my best wishes that your results will be good.
