omeprazole not working anymore

I have been taking nexium/omprazole for about 9/10 years now and that fixed it there was never a issue but now its getting bad at first it was just me needing to eat to stop the pain but now even upping the dosage to 2/20mg a day does not work gaviscon works for about half and hour than stops and im finding it hard to go to sleep at night until very early in the morning any tips im having the camera down soon but i just cant stand the pain looking for options its had me very stressed lately and dont know what to do

Yes, it is very wise for you to have an endoscopy (the camera down your throat) to investigate what is happening. I would advise asking for a sedative. You will have to have somebody to accompany you home, but there is a good chance that you will not feel anything untoward at all. It is good medical practice to make these steps to ensure a good diagnosis before deciding how to treat you.

You might try sleeping more upright at night, either propped up with pillows, or with something underneath the mattress or the head of the bed. Gaviscon Advance can be very helpful for shortish periods, as you say.

Something you can try is putting a brick under the head end of the bed. One each side. Stress will increase acid and contribute to your pain. Try relaxation techniques and avoid alcohol, tomoto, hot spices, vinegar all those things that aggravate your symptoms. Once you have the endoscopy your treatment plan can be put into place.
