Hi Andrew

All i can say is i have had this done a few times now and each time it seems to get better and last a lot longer before i have to have it again. Its a simple and sraight forward proccedure so there is nothing to worry about ,Hope it all goes well for you and you are one of the lucky ones that only have to have it the once. All the best

Hi Andrew

Just say I agree with all Handy says, I have had it done and it was very straight forward, just the same as a stretch of the oesophagus. It made a big difference to me and made life much better.

So good luck and I'll send you some good vibes ;-)

Best wishes

Hi Andrew,

I also have had this procedure done a few times, with me the times between each became shorter so ended up having a keyhole procedure asa permenant fix.

My case was rare as most procedures do work, sometimes on the second or third go seems to be the norm within our patient group.

It is a simple and straight forward endoscopy procedure so nothing to worry about and the difference will be noticed straight away.

Best wishes for Thursday,

Kind regards,

Dave C

Dear Andrew

They probably told you this already, but the pylorus sphincter valve is at the bottom of the stomach and it controls the rate at which food passes down into the intestines. If it does not work, you may feel sick because of the food hanging around too long in your stomach.

It is not unusual to have this done as part of the process of 'fine tuning' after the main operation. They will be careful not to overdo the stretching, and prefer to do these things a bit at a time. It is trying to get the right balance where food goes down OK, and stuff like bile does not come up in the other direction.

It is routine (for them, but not you!)

I was offered botox instead of a dilatation and it hasn't worked and theree's no talk of a further dose of botox or even an attempt at dilatation! I now have to take 20mg domperidone 3 times a day to help get the food through the pylorus and i saw the surgeon in clinic today and told him that the domperidone is not working! Good Luck on Thursday and yes it is a straight forward procedure which is successfull most of the time.
