My husband has had a stent fitted for his oesophageal cancer and is still experiencing pain two weeks later. Is this normal?

I think it depends on where the pain comes from and the level of pain - it can be quite tricky to establish the cause when transfer along nerves is involved. But it is definitely worth seeking further help from the medical team who would want to know about this.

Thanks Alan. After a five hour wait in A&E on Sunday, Bob was admitted and had another endoscopy yesterday as the stent had blocked. It cleared itself but they discovered that a significant amount of the stent had slipped into the stomach. They've adjusted his meds and he seems more comfortable . He has his last PET tomorrow and then has a two week wait for the decision of the MDT. It seems a long wait for the most important decision about Bob's life but no doubt there is a big demand on the service from other patients.
