Hi

My husband is having chemo pre surgery for oesophageal cancer and he sees a specialist NHS dietician who works alongside his oncologist so it might be worth contacting your consultant. I wish you well with your eating plan and hope you can get some help very soon.

You might try Sumithra Konduru from South Warwickshire Tel No: 01926495321 x 4258 but I believe that she does not deal with post-op patients. Alternatively ring Stephanie Wakefield at St Mary's Paddington 0203 312 6398/7620 Stephanie.Wakefield@imperial.nhs.uk

and she may be able to recommend somebody.

Meanwhile, there are some factsheets that you can download from opa.org.uk/regional-shop/lo...

You might also look at Rosemary Conley's "GI Hip & Thigh Diet" book. It was recommended on this site and I found it really useful for information and recipes for low GI foods.

Hi,

Have you tried contacting your clinical nurse. Or contacted the dietician at the hospital where you had the op they should be able to offer advice and support you.

I live in WR11 and had my op in Gloucester but the consultant is in Worcester, 15 months down the road and now down to 6 monthly check ups, I still have the odd problem, I have always been told that if I need advice I can always contact my clinical nurse.

Mick.

Once again, many thanks for all the above help. Advice from NHS dietician has not been very informaltive. Cheers Lynj
