HI

its a common OCD response to feel and want to cause harm to people who are close to us and whom we love. Its the fear, the anxiety that we suffer, afraid that harm

may come tho this person - a child or an adult - and a s result we incur huge anxiety fearing the worst.

The probability of causing harm to the other person is very remote, almost unquantifiable in numbers , and this +is is somethignn that the clinical community recognizes.

Its is the fear brought on by love of the other person, the fear that somethign may happen to them. A fea made much worse by OCD.

THis is all very normal and very human but in OCD cases it is exaggerated beyond the normal.

You need to start relaxing, because this is somewhat out of your control now, but by accepting that its is only a symptom of OCD and not reacting to it but reasoning it thru helps the situation.

So try to reduce your fear. You are the last person who could cause harm to to other people - well this is my opinion ok?

See a psychologist/psychiatrist and he will confirm these theories. he will also give you some therapy sessions and medication to calm down a little.

Once you have relaxed enough to see the situation just a bit differently you will improve by yourself.

I hope some of this works for you.

be well

Max

Hello MissTD,

I am sorry that somebody from Health Unlocked seems to have deleted your last post. It seems they failed to understand OCD and how it impacts on people. I will raise this with them.

In the meantime please do reach out on the charity's own forums at ocdforums.org which are free to use and where your post won't be deleted for talking about OCD. We do have a very good community on there who understand this aspect of OCD well.

I had started replying to your previous post before it was deleted to say that your reaction is a normal response for someone whose OCD is fixated on these obsessional thoughts. What is clear reading your posts is that you're perhaps not yet recognising the thoughts for that they are, OCD. Is that a fair assumption to make?

That might be one of the first steps to take is to try and learn to recognise the thoughts for what they are.. once you can do that then the next step would be to learn to accept them and change your response to those thoughts.

Are you getting any help or support?

Ashley

I’m just scared i act on them like when I look at my sister naked or if there running I have to loook away as I’m scared I touch them or I rape them and it panics me so much and makes me think I’m

Horny wich I know I’m not

in reply to MissTD

This is what OCD can do. The thoughts lead to feelings and emotions, which leads to more thoughts and misconception that the thoughts mean something.

Thoughts don't mean anything, but our emotions and fears have the power to make those thoughts 'feel' like they do mean something.

Obviously there is a lot going on for you and the anxiety and fear is making things seem difficult right now. Are you getting any kind of health professional support? CBT for example?
