has any one been tested for hughes syndrome as it has same symtoms as ra.
nope but can you tell us all what it is?
Yes, I have. They often test for that at the same time they are doing screening for lupus and other rheumatology disorders as well as part of the big set of screening tests. Its also known as antiphospholipid syndrome, and its something that is easily dealt with if they discover it (I think it just means regular low dose aspirin), but untreated can lead to things like higher risk of miscarriages, etc.
Yes, I was & it was negative. I've had two miscarriages in the past which I wouldn't count as a lot but they did the test because of 'recurrent miscarriages' (!). And no, I don't have it.

Miscarriages are incredibly common in people with coeliac disease in the years before they get a diagnosis and treatment. Worth getting a blood test for that if you have had an unexplained miscarriage, particularly if it was around or after the 12 week mark.
Your knowledge is amazing earthwitch! Both my miscarriages were at around the 12 week mark but one occurred when I was 48 so I didn't think it was particularly surprising. I'm coming round to the idea that inflammatory arthritis is linked to / stems from digestive problems. Is it possible to have coeliac disease without knowing it, though?
