Hi have just found this site so obviously I am new

Well at the moment I am wating to see a rheumatologist (March14) I have already seen one about 4/5 years who diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia Osteoarthritis Cervical spondylosis Reflux oesophagitis & Reynard's in my hands . For the past twelve months I have been more or less in a constant flare , started having problems with my eyes watering and going very blurred and feeling very sore , not being able to read a book or newspaper etc went to the optician who diagnosed Meibomian Gland Dysfunction & Blepharitis was prescribed two lots of eye drops one day and night 6 months on went back and he did further test and he suspect Sjoren Syndrome as my eyes are so dry but I don't have a dry mouth he wrote to my GP who then got in touch with me , did a lot of blood work and one came back with the RA factor raised this has been slightly raised before but this time he decided to act on it and send me to see a Rheumatologist and Ophthalmologist , still waiting for this appointment ,

I feel in limbo at the moment to what the diagnoses will eventually be I do have a lot of symptoms' of RA especially my hands on both sides my fingers are very swollen and very tender to touch manly the two middle ones both my knees are sore and ankles my scalp feels like it been in the sun and got sunburn even to put brush through is painful

,(all good fun)

Is there any one who has been in this situation where these condition, or it one and comes under a umbrella syndrome

Thank you for taking the time to read this long post and being the first one I have posted

Welcome to this forum. Sorry you going through so much, and still needing to find answers, we have a lovely lady on here who says RA never comes to the party alone, especially with immune problems, we are different. I have RA, Hashimotos, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, glaucoma, RA dry eyes, Vit b12 and D deficiency. Hopefully when you see the rheumatologist, they will be able to tie some of your conditions together. Give the helpline a ring, they will be able to talk you through your concerns. Wishing you all the very best X ,

Hi Gigi 71

Thank you for your reply , one thing I didn't mention is that I get very sore skin when you take your clothes off and they touch your skin at times it is very painful , as you said hopefully the rheumatologist will be able to put a label to it

This again maybe to do with Sjoren Syndrome, but am not medically trained so don't want to guess. Quite a lot of these conditions are interlinked, you will need further tests for hopefully the right dx for you. You don't say how long you have to wait to see the rheumatologist, hope not too long. You can also look back on some of the posts here, you may feel are helpful to you, if you look under topics. Take care and good luck. X
