I get pain in my collarbone. I suffer quite badly with my shoulders and I've been advised that it's referred pain. If you're in a lot of pain in general, you may very well be hunching your shoulders and causing spasms. I find that a TENS machine eases soft tissue pain.
Hi Julie, I have had this on and off, and doc said although might not be actual RA there, it is usually related cos' tendons and such get affected by RA too. I quite often get lot of pain in my hip, and RA is not actually in my hip, but tendons and ligaments affected again. I do find that it eases in a couple of days, and can sometimes be weeks or even months between flares, unless you are unfortunate to do something to set it off again!
