I woke up one morning with pain on the inside of my left shoulder? I'm having a hard time lifting my arm up, it's the 4th day of this?

Sounds like a frozen shoulder, or something similar. I'd book an appointment with your GP and get it looked at.

Hello there, I have had the same problem with my right shoulder for over a year now. I did have a steroid injection in the shoulder a year ago when it was acutely painful and that gave me great relief. Though it still gives me a bit of grief sometimes it is not as bad as it was before the injection, so I would say it would be a good idea to visit your GP and get some help.

Incidentally, the shoulder joints are notoriously affected by RA just as the knees, hands and feet are. Take care. June x

I have a bad shoulder at the moment I thought it was my RA however my rhemaotolgist gave me a steroid injection but he thought I cold have torn a muscle the injection didn't cure it and today I am going for an ultra sound scan he said it could be a rotating cuff injury

HI I had the same thing about 18 months ago and it was bursitis and I had ultra sound to find this, it is very painful, but the steroids injections were brilliant. When they take a ultra sound the doctors know excatly where to put the injections. I was also on tramadol for the pain and other inflamation drugs. But as other guys on here say a trip to the doctors is always good, but don`t be put off , insist on getting it sorted out.

hope you are all having some pain free time tonight. xx

I have intermittent pain in both shoulders. Just comes on and increases until reaches crescendo then seems to ease off again. So bad unable to change gears or turn the car even with pain relief Naproxen 500 and two co-codamol 30/500 and power steering. Think it's rotator cuff problem in my shoulders. Rheumatologist convinced not a flair gave me intramuscular inj of steroid any way (buttock not shoulder) pain resolved. Not sure that as I'd taken a week off sick ( first time with RA) that the rest was resolving the problem any way and the injection was just coincidental

Hi there

I've had this a few times and usually lasts 3/4 days and goes. I would go see your gp as it's dragging on. It could be a flare or you could have injured it or slept on it funny. Hope it eases soon. Take care k x
