What drug is this. If it is MTX, it does sound high to me. What I have read injection of MTX is usually about 2/3 tablet dose. Definitely worth querying IMO

Thanks Cecil. Yes, it is MTX I am injecting and my understanding is that the 50mg compares to half the 9 (2.5)mg. pills I had been taking. I'll check with my doc.

Hi.

Double check your box again. Mine is 20mg of mtx dissolved in 50g of fluid (saline I assume). I'm guessing it makes it more injectable. Hope this helps with your concern.

It may be worth you speaking to your rheumy team about the hair loss though. They may be able to suggest something to help.

I am similar to u Judy. My mtx doseis 25mg but it is I syringe with 50ml saline.

I was told 25mg was max dose of mtx injectiin for my size and weight. My hair and nails r suffering from this dosage but I feel an ra flare would b worse so for now I put up with it.

Hope our replies r useful.

Hi. I would double check the box. The way it's put on the box is confusing I made the same mistake going back to specialist nurse after getting my supply and she sat me down & explained to me the solution MTX is mixed with saline have a look your prob seeing 20mg/0.5fl. Go on metaject website to see the various strength. If it has a brown brace it's 20mg. Hope this helps.

My understanding is 25 mg a week is max dose anyone should be taking. I would definitely get clarification from my doctor before I injected that amount.
