The whole of my lower legs do the same the only thing that help is ice packs or putting legs out of the Duvet. It's so strange how the legs don't feel hot to touch.

Hi, I have terrible trouble with my legs...mine actually feel very cold, I put hot water bottles on my legs...I can't do without them. My doctor put me on sleeping meds to help...I've got nerve damage so I assume that's what it is...I hope you sort it as I know what a nightmare it can be...I'm not completely sure but I think it must have something to do with circulation. Quinine is pretty good for restless legs and is available on prescription or tonic water with quinine in, RSL also goes hand in hand with fibromyalgia along with burning sensations, I don't know if that's applicable but I hope it helps.

If not , tell me to shut up lol

Be careful with quinine it almost kills me off and I know I cannot go anywhere where there is Malaria as there is no cure for me. Just take a sip if you do use it and try it out. I am not advocating its use nor saying what Phillip says is wrong. I don't know to be truthful just wanted folk to be safe. anything can cause an allergic reaction. Take care.

Wow that's some effect on you , I've only had it in things like tonic water or tablet form from GP , I don't think it is something you could use every day, maybe every now and then. It's good to have several opinions because we can learn from each other, thank you for the warning

It used to be in anything bitter lemon to create the bitter part of it including ice-lollies. People have bitter lemon and tonic water is a number of things and obviously if one is teetotal for any reason they seemed OK to have. I was told it was not uncommon so thought I would share.

It sounds much like what I suffer with in my lower legs (i suspect restless legs syndrome). It always starts up in the late afternoon/early evening, and putting my feet up on my stool is the only thing that helps. In my case it'll be the fibromyalgia that gets the blame! X

I've heard that RSL can be caused by being anaemic, I used to get it but since going through the menopause, my iron levels have raised and I don't have it any more. Maybe you should have your iron levels checked and if they're low, try a course of iron tablets. Ferrous Sulphate. You can buy them over the counter I believe. It's worth a try.

Hi there, just wanted to say that don't think RSL is caused by low iron levels as I have a condition which causes me to have very high haemoglobin levels. Not sure of course I'm no doc. Lou lou
