With this you really need to make an appointment with the GP, if you had an infection that long ago damage could have been caused to the bone, that is why the replacement has not worked properly. You seemed to have missed the boat and this has caused some problems

Scans and X Rays need to be taken, to see if there is any damage caused to the connected bone

Hi Pauline, I had 6 knuckle replacements in 2008 and they are failing. I get through the days pretty much Ok, but find myself waking up at night & having to reposition my hand a lot. My Orthopedist Dr told me that the plastic joints are broken. Now that I have finally gotten Medicare, maybe I can get them fixed, although I don't want more surgeries, oy. Good luck,
