Firstly all Im relatively new to healthunlocked and w... - NRAS
Firstly all Im relatively new to healthunlocked and was so very happy to find you. CAN U STILL HAVE RA IF U DON'T HAVE ANY MARKERS ? Ta ann
Hello
Yes Psoriatic Arthritis (Atrophy)
Yes Enthesitis.
I think it's also true that markwrs such as blood tests are helpful in diagnosis but you can still feel symptoms when CRP and ESR are 'normal'
Many thanks for your prompt reply - you're very much appreciated. Regards
Hello you can still have r/a or p/a without any of the markers including rheumatoid factor. Me I have negative rheumatoid +normal esr/crp and have bad arthritis and quite a bit of damage. X-rays may not show anything early on but I think mris can.Hope you get some good treatment don't put it off
As others have said, yes you can, but you could also possibly have a different inflammatory arthritis - spondyloarthritis, which is a group of seronegative arthritises including ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis. Ask your rheumatologist if they have considered any of those, and what testing they would need to do to rule them out.
Hello Ann, welcome to the site. When first diagnosed in August 2010, it was an MRI that confirmed I have RA. My inflammatory blood markers were normal and I didn't have any swelling. Now I have swelling on the wrists and hands (which only became obvious in April 2012). I agree with earthwitch, speak to your consultant and ask if they can do more tests.
Hi
Welcome to the site. Not every one has all the markers for what ever type of arthritis they are eventually diagnosed with. Sometimes diagnosis takes time. And if course some peeps are sero negative, but still have arthritis. More tests are needed and remember there are different forms of arthritis. Speak to your consultant/gp to obtain a more definitive answer.
Hope you don't have it

X not really sure if I'm using this site correctly cos one moment I'm on a fibro site & the next on an RA one .....Nevertheless, the help I'm receiving has now helped me pick up a phone & call a Dr who is hopefully going to be able to refer me - yet again !!! And all of this OVER THE PHONE .....We'll see. All I know is that I need help managing the pain & help with the agaraphobic condition I've inherited over the last 3 yrs cos it's impossible to ask for the help you need if you can't leave the bubble. ann
Hi Ann, ya sure going thru it arnt you...I'm kinda new to to the site too...you know yu mentioned one min your ona. Fibro site the next RA?.....when u log in, look up the top and find Communities.....will show PAS, NRAS( us now) and FIbro site, so just be sure you click on the one you want, I got confuddled over that too had to work it out lol......ask your GP for answers and NEVER suffer in silence....always get help ok...Jill x
I will Jill - he doesn't want to refer me cos he feels he can help himself - SO has left a script for me to pick up tomorrow & even asked if I needed it delivered. I'm not used to the consideration but could get used to it ! Even said he would want to hear from me again in a month. Also someone wrote on one of the sites about ESA so answered & feel I've finally been heard & its such a relief. This is good !!!! You'll have to let me know if I become a nuisance cos my chest doesn't feel so tight & I actually took a painkiller .....because I deserved it ......& that's thanks to someone else whose just there !!!! X ann
