Synovectomy

Hi

Has anybody had a synovectomy of the knee to remove inflammed synovium? If so, what sort of result did you have?

Hi Emma

I had a menisectomy and partial synovectomy just over 2 years ago. Initially the knee felt better but the swelling did not alter. Now it's playing up again and I was told at the time of the surgery that the only real solution is a knee replacement. At under 40 they wouldn't even consider it. In my view the surgery had such a short term result that I might has well not have bothered. We're all different though,so you may well have a totally different outcome.
