1st scan

I am 5weeks and seeing my midwife on the 18th dec. Just wondered when people had their first scans? Finding this site really useful!

My first scan is 11th January - 12 and half weeks.

your first scan should be between 8 to 14 weeks, because prior to that the is too small.

My first scan was when I was about 12 weeks pregnant

I was 14 weeks 1 day - it's the latest they can do it if you want a test they offer in my area. Mine was quite late though as they got the dates written down wrong at the midwives.

You should really have it at around 12 weeks

I had a scan this week, eight weeks in, could see a little heart beat and everything, which is fabulous. I have another on December 20, this is the traditional 12-week dating scan though.

My sister-in-law paid for an early scan privately. Usually it's done for medical reasons.

with my first pregnacy i had my scan at 11+6 weeks and my 20 weeks dead on the 20 weeks.With is pregnancy I was 13+6 days when I had my first scan they like you to have the scan between 8-12 weeks but it all depends on how busy your local hospital is for scans. My 20 weeks scan is booked for the 28th of this month due to it being christmas day when I should officialy have it.
