I'm 38, almost 7 weeks and feel scared and happy. :o) I'm not sure at what point I'll feel like everything is going well! I'm looking forward to seeing the midwife in a couple of weeks and craving the sound of little ones heart beat so I know I'm not dreaming! :o)

Wishing you all the luck in the world with your pregnancy. xxx

I'm 40 and found out I'm 7 weeks pregnant. My partner and I had been trying for a while. I knew something wasn't right, my body just felt different. Three tests later and they all came back positive.

Like many of the women on the forum, I'm so happy and can't believe I'm pregnant. I'm also worried and now take each day as it comes. When I first posted my questions on here I had some lovely replies and found that those gave me an inner confidence.

As one lady pointed out, having children alot later in life is now becoming the trend. I certainly wasn't ready to have children in my 20's.

I have been with my partner for 2 years. He is like a Cheshire cat, beaming that he is going to be a dad at 43.

I've found my breasts have swollen and tingle and I often feel different things happening to my body. I take them all as good signs. I'm off to see the midwife next week. It will be interesting to see what she says.

Just relax, take it easy and enjoy.

Phew! Another blessed woman! I wasn't even trying and it was my partner (37) of 7 years who mentioned to me that I was eating a lot! Blooming cheek! Ha!

Then a couple of days later I noticed that I didn't have my period even though all the signs were there. Sore breasts, sweating like crazy at night, eating loads of maoms. (sweets), going to the toilet a lot, that made me pause, if it was early menopause or something else.

Easiest was to do a pregnancy test.

4 positive tests later, I admitted I was pregnant. Shocked and a half to say the least but both of us have been like grining cheshire cats. So unexpected.

I have my first Dr's appointment on Monday.

I will relax and enjoy.

Wishing you a blessed, easy, 'pain free' pregnancy and birth and Thank you!

Congratulations ladies! You are so blessed. Yes, women are choosing to have kids later in life (work, careers, education). It is so sweet when children are born to those who truly want them and can provide for them.

Having a child is surely the most beautifully irrational act that two people in love can commit.

Beautiful!

I'm 20 ,pregnant with my first, and im 25 weeks on tuesday :) im excited and literally cannot stop thinking about the birth! One thing I will say, drink plenty of water , it prevents uti's , which Ive already had one of , eat loads of fruit - stops you craving sugar so much , and try to exercise regularly before the birth :)

Good luck ladies :) me and my husband are extremely excited about meeting our little girl , hope everything goes smoothly x

Congratulations! And thanks for the tip! Not much of a water drinker so will start. Love fruit so not a problem and powerwalk a good few miles every weekend.

So covered there too (I think)

Wishing you and yours a wonderful life. Too excited now. :)))) xx

Thanks :) wasnt much of a water drinker myself :) which then caused me to actually catch the uti , you should be fine , especially if your exercising that much :),

Thankyou :)Wishing you all the best with everything :) I know it is exciting , isnt it :D xx

I saw my midwife yesterday and spoke about age and women getting pregnant later in life.

She advised that she is looking after an awful lot of women this year and many are over 40. In fact I was one of her young ones! She said she is looking after a lady who is 50 and having her 5 child. Wow!

Felt totally reasured by the midwife and quite happy but I didn't realise there was so much to being pregnant! Came away with a folder of information. Plenty of bedtime reading!

Hell yes!! i'm 40 and 6 weeks pregnant after undergoing our 2nd cycle of IVF and I'm petrified. We had a scan this morning and I was so nervous I though that I was going to be sick (morning sickness hasn't kicked in yet!). I think it's perfectly natural, especially in older mums, but I think we should just sit back, relax and enjoy it, and hopefully, let our husbands/partners run around after us!! Good luck.

Oooo! Congratulations! I am yet to have my scan! Not having any "pregnant symptons' either so we are blessed and you DOUBLE BLESSED!

HA! Agreed about the hubbies/partners doing the running for a change.

Wishing you the VERY best with all as I know everything will be completely fine.

Thank you for the support.!!!

I've decided not to read too much and only research questions that I want to know as over the last couple of weeks I have come across so many 'scary' comments and posts that I don't want to make myself worry for things that have not happened or even want to put anything negative or bad on me.

There is so much to read and to digest out that I am only going to focus on the positive (obviously be aware of the dangers) so that I am relaxed.

I am power walking every weekend, drinking water with fresh lemon, taking my vitamins and folic pills (as Raogbole kindly suggested), but other than that doing the norm.

Any other great tips out there that are working for you beautiful soon-to-be-mama's?

My mum was also 42 when she had my sister. Everything went absolutely fine. She had a completely normal, natural pregnancy and birth and my sister turned out the picture of health. I do remember she used to get tired a lot though, so maybe you should schedule in some time to rest and dedicate yourself to some therapeutic activities.

Aw! That's great!

Thank you for the calming advice and tip. I do get tired quite quickly and 'luckily' 8 weeks pregrante I am showing/ not having any symptons yet. Have my 1st scan mid October and excited about that.

Just want some heads up to better myself. Thanks again.
