My 4 week old has just began to not settle in his Moses basket and won't settle on his back. Has anyone else experienced this? And does anyone have any tips?? Thanks

Settling at night
Hi hun my lo is the same not happy or settled sleeping on his back so I put him slightly onto his sides and hes much better think perservance is needed though to get them to stay in own bed they'd much rather be with us lol xx
Yh James prefers to be on his side too......I think he'd sleep better on his front if I let him!! but I do lay him on his side a bit, just enough that if he rolls, he can only roll onto his back. He sleeps so much better like that than always on his back! x
I personally think lying flat on back is a very unnatural way of sleeping. Once they start to roll they get themselves comfy. My almost 3yr old is a right fidget I go in to check on him and he's upside down under the blanket lying sideways and head hanging over the side....watch this space it be James in a few yrs!!! Xx
Haha! Sounds like my sister still now and she's 24 lol!! Yh laying on ur back all night can't be massively comfy! I like to give him a bit of a choice x
Hehe bless her! Im hoping charlie won't still be doing it at 24 I wont be able to roll him easily then lol xx bless the babies they dont have a lot of choice but which side is first tonight lol xx
OH please... the memories are all coming back to me. I struggled settling all my babies after a few weeks I tried and tried and tried again... if I was too tired or had enough I popped them in with me (not recommended I know) good luck x
My little boy was the same around the same age. I tried the recommended towels under the mattress to slope him a bit but he always slept so much better on his chest lying on me. So we bought one of the angel care sensor monitors and started letting him sleep on his side or front much against all the advice. I felt safer using the monitor (an alarm goes off if they stop breathing!) and six months later he still will only sleep on his front at night. I spoke to my health visitor about it and she said they can't advise it but I have to do whatever works for me and lo. So please don't think you are alone or a bad mum if you have to resort to side or front sleeping, plenty of us do it even if we shouldn't! And we need sleep so we can be good happy mums x
