About 60 years ago, my parents had a clothes line pole in the yard with a long chain on it for the dog (the yard was not fenced). There was a circle in the yard that was the length of the chain where the grass was greener and grew faster than anywhere else in the yard. Also, one dog we had was actually allergic (?) to grass, so she would pee on the cement porch, then want to come right back in the house.
