Yep, seriously, we had to be home when the street lights came on. Or when we heard my dad whistle loudly. Punishment meant we were punished to stay inside. Oh, how things have changed.

lol. We sort of got around that one time. I'd walked nearly a mile up the road to play with my friend, only to find out that she was grounded. Her mother felt bad for me (no siblings or closer playmates), so she let me stay and play as long as we stayed inside. Given that they had a fully-stocked game room in the cellar with a COLOR TV, that wasn't a hardship.
