Wow! It's amazing to see that cognition, which I voted for, is the highest voted symptom. Despite being a full time wheelchair user, cognition is the main reason why I can't work again.
I quit work because of cognition and fatigue. I felt incapable of doing my job correctly. My co-workers treated me as if I was stupid. I do understand what you're saying about not working.
Try to get a solid 7-8 hours of sleep a night. That helps me concentrate better to what i have going on. I keep a pencil and pad with me to take notes and I carry a year calendar to keep track every appointment, meeting, MS drug dinners/luncheons and everything else you have to do! You can do this!!
Thanks for replying DianneB. I will definitely have to keep better notes. I do keep my appointments on a calendar but I don't always carry it with me. I used to be more organized but I think MS has affected my organization skills too. Focusing and concentrating has become a big problem for me.
Pain
I am 74, diagnosed 2 years, and agree fully with this poll. Cognition, sleep issues and fatigue. Why wasn't fatigue in your poll?
Thank you for responding, 4fishylady ! For this particular poll, we were trying to gauge interest in the more commonly overlooked MS symptoms as far as coverage; Fatigue is one that pops up more often both here on My MSAA Community and on our website and publications. But "fatigue" is certainly an important MS symptom topic to cover, agreed!
