I read this article in the UK's Telegraph newspaper today and wept.

The NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) authority now think that 177 organ donations every year are stopped by family members because they are uncertain that it is what their loved ones wanted. According to NHSBT that equates to 450 potential organ transplants (most people donate more than one organ). That's 450 lives lost because people did not have a conversation. And you can't blame the family members.
If you are asked a direct question and you don't know the answer what else can you do but say no and maintain the status quo.
And the answer is so simple. The answer is MyDirectives' free mobile app. Download it today. Do an organ donor video and share it with three family members. Hell, share it on Facebook. You want the world to know, don't you? And it works both ways. If you don't want your organs donated - make a video and tell everybody.
We are lobbying hard to get NHSBT to adopt MyDirectives' approach but until that happens tell every organ donor you know to download the app and make a video. Let's force them into the 20th Century.
It is not a question of opting in or opting out of organ donation - it is just a question of talking.
