Hi carolyn80,

You really need to get this checked out by your doctor.

It could be an old mole that you hadn't previously noticed. Some moles can be flat, quite pale and later change in colour. If it is a mole, it needs to be examined and possibly removed. Itching and/or colour change can mean that a mole is cancerous - fortunately, most cancerous moles are benign (harmless). Sometimes, new moles can appear quite quickly if you spend a lot of time in the sun or on sunbeds.

Hi Carolyn80. Please see your Doctor and get this checked out for your own peace of mind.

Ithink this is a bruise, I have had several falls lately on rough ground and thought nothing of them, so thanks, I am waiting to see if it goes away or fades in a day or two.

HiCarolyn80, This sort of black stain on your chest, which frequently itches quite a bit, is something that many people have as they get older. I had such a mole or wart for several years, that I found quite threatening despite the regular checkups by my dermatologist. It began to itch quite a bit 2011-12. Then I injured it in the shower, and it became infected, During my regular checkup, the dermatologist removed and sent it away for a biopsy. Luckily, benign and no cancer.

Thanks, I think it is a bruise as I am always falling over and I shall see how it is in a week
