Hello Trace, I am not medicaly trained but I do have Pustular Psoriasis which affects the hands and feet. I am told that this condition is hereditary so cannot be 'caught' from another person. I would suggest that you speak to your doctor and ask if this could be investigated. It is quite possible, on the other hand, that socks and gloves we all need at this time of year may be made of something that irritates her skin. The quick option is to buy pure cotton and to avoid anything with fake fur linings, this will hopefuly be a quick fix. Do ask around the family and see if anyone has proriasis and talk to your Doctor. Hope you get on ok little one.

Hi trace76, I agree with hajoed, it's best to get it checked out. It could be something that irritates the skin or a condition such as eczema. Eczema can sometimes cause dryness and flaking without the redness and blistering that's often associated with it. Another skin condition, Ichthyosis (vulgaris) can appear around the age of 5, causing scaly, rough/dry skin and excessively lined palms.

Hope you find an answer soon.

Shell.

This is something that needs to be checked out. I cannot remember what this is called but it was in the news a year or so ago. My memory is not good on this. It was associated with a heart condition I think but not sure. Sorry cannot be more specific.
