I had a mole removed in the 1990's. I had been reluctant to visit my GP because the mole hadn't appeared to have grown in size, but was simply very itchy. Fortunately, someone gave me a bit of push, and I had the mole removed. It was only basal cell carcinoma, but it's certainly better to be safe than sorry - even if you are concerned about troubling your doctor.
