Was involved in an rtc 11th July, I was stationery and was hit at 50...I've got neck and back pain. Stiff and feeling sick and dizzy if I get up too fast. I'm also very tired most days, seen by a&e nothing broken just monitor and see how I go.
The worst part is the throbbing pain in the back of Mt head and neck. I've taken normal pain relief but it is constant. I struggle to do anything due to this...
My car is badly damaged and is in the garage. The other vehicle has admitted fault.
I'm just worried in case something has happened to my body due to the impact speed....

I had the same! I was stationary, & the person behind put foot on accelerator instead of brake. They reckon she was doing 60 when she hit me. It broke the chassis of my brand new car, & her car was a write off. I suffered whiplash injuries to my neck. Obviously, I can’t say nothing else will have happened to you…! You need to go to your doctor if you’re worried. I was in hospital with my neck injuries, but everything healed OK. It took some time for my whole body to settle down, though, hope you’re resting!! Lots of rest! Take care!
Hiya I've been referred to get scans on my neck and back. I've had previous issues so I'm worried it's made things worse. I've been seen by urgent care they are saying so long as I don't loose feeling down my legs and such it's just to manage at home.
This is the first accident for me. I get flash backs and still have nightmares of the whole things.
I've been out driving and I panic when a vehicle gets too close. Breaks late I panic.
Good idea, I had scans done. The only reason I ended up in traction in hospital was because I lost the feeling in one arm…trapped nerve in neck. Yes. The panic when a vehicle gets too close. I know it. I went on to have three subsequent car crashes. Two were similar to the first, I was stationery & somebody drove into the back…but without such severity & at lower speed. Fourth one was when our campervan overturned after an oil slick on road sent us into a 20ft bank & turned us over. Even after all this time I still leave more space between my car & the one in front in queues, & stoppages, so I can move forward a bit if the one behind gets too close or doesn’t appear to be stopping! It’s automatic to me now, 30 years later! It does improve, well it did for me. It’s early stages for you, only about ten days ago! Just take life gently. It will get better. S x
Hiya aww thank u for the info. You have been in a few. Just taking my time and trying not to do to much as my neck and back are agony to move. Had physio but all that did was make it worse. xx
Oh, I’m not medically trained, but that’s very early after the crash to start physio, imho! I didn’t start mine each time until the pain became less acute. Good luck with the scans, I hope there’s no other damage…to you, I mean! Cars are replaceable, you aren’t! S xx
Thats what I thought. Thank u for your advice and yes very true at least my car can be fixed. Hope I manage to get the scans soon. I've been referred back to the pain clinic and thars a 13 week wait for me to be seen. Back log is awful xx
Yes! I queued for 11 months after an urgent referral (rheumatology, but not for fibromyalgia!) then I’ve waited over a year for neurology… tbh, 13 weeks is excellent…sadly!! S xx
