Hey Janey Bell
The poor thing! I did get a bit of that metallic taste but not too bad! A few of the ladies on here suggested Pineapple Chunks are supposed to be great for that metallic taste it's worth a try and they taste good and have an enzyme in them that help with inflammation too!
Hope it's gets more bearable soon!

Different organs in body have different cells and all are being affected by chemo heavy chemicals and good cells too gets killed which makes the things suffer on different organs in different intensity. Chemo needs to kill cancer cells but by default good cells are also killed. These are all side effects of chemo and will have to be taken up with. Oncologist can be talked in detail about what to do to bear the side effects. Have a straight talk face to face and eye to eye with him. Cooperate with doctor with knowledge.

Hi,
There is a black tongue condition which probaby isn't related to the chemo but which does give a nasty metallic taste. If you google 'black hairy tongue' you'll find it. There are various lifestyle changes suggested but the pineappple really does work. it can be used before the tongue gets to the black stage and will help restore a coated tongue to it's more usual state. Obviously it is also full of sugar so it must be coupled with really good oral hygiene. I hope the chemo works for him.
I had homeopath support for sickness, metallic taste & attitude. It worked very well along side with chemo.
I've heard that swilling Aloe Vera juice around your mouth several times a day and swallowing it. Also the same with cold black tea. Nothing to lose by giving it a go. Good luck.
My friend had this too, he had acupuncture and it was sorted out pretty quickly
