Really lucky here in Derbyshire to have a thriving member group. We meet up regularly for walks, meals out etc, some go on trips together, some camping. The key has been a very enthusiastic and hard working person who has dedicated herself to supporting the group until we have now reached a "critical mass" and more people share the efforts of organising meet ups.
I think the things that have helped are: being very inclusive and the fact that different groups get together for shared interests (book group, camping, walking) without ever excluding anyone of form cliques.
Where I think FNUK/MtL can help is providing support, especially in the early days, for the key leaders (it is quite hard to start with) and in getting the information out to potential members through links with clinics, social media and website information as well as supplying a safe point of first contact.
Hi Hannah, thanks for organising this poll. I think MTL can help by promoting and advertising any meet ups that are arranged - it's a real shame you don't do the email distribution that you used to do as I think this was a good way of circulating the meet ups.
Also, really ensuring that the Health Unlocked site doesn't include inappropriate posts, which I know is difficult but I think it will put people off returning to the site, and especially if that is the only location where the meet ups are advertised, ideally it will be a 'safe haven' for people to return to.
As a side note - anyone interested in meet ups in London or Hertfordshire please contact Sam, local contact volunteer via the MTL office (via Gillian, volunteer coordinator at Fertility Network UK).

Hi Sam, we do try our best to stay on top of inappropriate comments on this forum - we do monitor daily and please if you do see anything inappropriate then please report as abuse - this way all admins get an email and we log in straight away to deal with this. If a report of abuse comes in at the weekend we try and action this straight away too - the forum isn't monitored over the weekend but if something is reported as abuse it should get dealt with. Ali is back from leave so we will be having a discussion this week and will respond to your email.
