Magnesium. A good one, and enough . Magnesium citrate maybe , or mag cit with an occasional magnesium threonate. Magnesium glycinate or malate if you have a sensitive digestive system. I take 1,500 mag cit daily, sometimes more. Also, selenium, and make sure that you have enough vit D (sunshine).

Sorry, can't advise on supplements - I was lucky enough to stumble across the cause of most of my migraine, which turned out to be dairy, cheese in particular. Now I've stopped eating it, I don't have them any more...

I'm chronic and understand the difficulties of not being able to use acute medication for every attack .

My go to alternative treatment is full fat Coke .

I drink a can of coke at the first signs of a migraine and more often than not it aborts the attack or gives relief for a while .

I also use espresso and sometimes use both together and get relief .

Best treatment I ever discovered for migraine .

Also I dissolve aspirin into Coke when treating with meds and this gets to the pain fast .

Wow coke? Never thought that could of work, I’ve tried coffee and yet I still have them so I’ll definitely keep that in mind!!

I find coke very effective also either to stave off a migraine or get rid in the last stages. My go to treatment these days is tiger balm across the forehead and back of neck, also daily supplements of magnesium, b12 and q10. I have had migraines since I was 12 (am 61) and got to the point where they were almost daily, I was over using triptans and getting rebound headaches, I stopped all meds, went gluten-free and started using the above about 4 yrs ago. I now occasionally use paracetamol if I get a headache but have to say my migraines are much less frequent and far less intense. Do your research and I am sure you will find something that works for you😊
