New Year's day brought the worst migraine I've had for a while.Does anyone else get a sore throat/bad taste in mouth and feel drained?

The sore throat doesn't really sound like migraine. There are some viruses that will cause a really severe headache - have you consulted your GP or are these normal symptoms for you?

I do get tingling in the mouth and dryness with my migraine - and an over-sensitivity to taste and smell but I don't think that is quite what you are discribing here.

It's strange because when the migraine subsides so does the sore throat. Then I am so hungry.

migraines are linked to muscle spasms - one theory is that it's spasms in blood vessels around the brain that causes the headache etc. I get really bad gut spasms as part of mine - possible that the sore throat and the subsequent hunger might be past of this.

Lots of people experience a desire for sweet things just before the migraine - I tend to want potato or oats - so the hunger may be related to that.

I had the worst migraine in a long time over new year -awful taste in mouth, flashing lights, lost sight briefly, tongue felt like it was filling mouth, pins and needles in hands and lost feeling in hands -thought I was having a stroke!
