I have been unwell for a week with flu like symptoms I am not feeling worse with severe joint pain headache nausea but no vomiting but really dizzy could this b viral meningitis

I wouldn't take any chances I'd get seen by a doctor as soon as possible

We are not medically trained on here so cannot advise. As Suffolkcp has said you need to go and see a doctor asap. Meningitis usually has an excutiating unbearable headache.

If you think it might be meningitis don't wait, I had a blinding head ache for 10 days, felt absolutely awful for the last 7 of those, kept falling over without any reason and then nearly died of VM 16 hours after being admitted to hospital. Better for a doctor to say you wanted their time than have them signing your death certificate in my humble opinion.

I dount it the temps. can go to 107, headaches are not only blinding but they affect every part of your body. And death usually follows at a minimum of 7-10 days.

Sorry Sut1 that is incorrect information you are putting out there. Unless you meant 'maximum' instead of minimum. Some patients go from being & feeling well to having fully blown BM in just hours.

If you prefer, mine developed in three days and I. Was in a coma for three days and the hospital for 40 days whatever

Hi , If you do have VM, you will be experiencing the worst headache of your life. I walked around with VM for 7 days before it was confirmed by lumbar puncture. I would seek out medical professional ASAP . Good luck

I had headache for one week and I thought it was just a flu next week I was in comma for two weeks, go to the dr right away, better safe than sorry.
