Hi - my son had bac men 2 years ago - the main symptoms he has been left with are emotional ( panic attacks , low mood ) and a compromised immune system - gets every bug going and it takes ages to bounce back - ear infections particularly .

I had bacterial meningitis 4 years ago this Feb. and diagnosed with Sjogrens this year. Lost my hearing in one ear and have vestibular damage, which affects my balance visual-spacial abilities, as a result of the meningitis and antibiotics used to treat. I am much older than your child. Since then i have had every immunization available. I try to eat healthy , stay active and rest when I am tired. I have to jump on infections otherwise my medical family and my own family get panicky. I know lately there has been talk of cognitive disfunction but I think that has a lot to do with the hearing loss. Hope this helps. Kind Regards, Jeffery
