I'm covered from head to toe in a slightly ... - Meningitis Now
I'm covered from head to toe in a slightly itchy rash. My family says it's measles but I'm worried it's meningitis. What do I do?
You need to seek medical advice asap if you are worried. Meningitis usually has other symptoms and not just a rash and my understanding is that a meningitis rash is not itchy. It could also be a fairly common viral rash not associated with Meningitis or an allergic reaction to something or as your family say Measles or German Measles. Look at the symptoms on Meningitis Now website or on the NHS patient.co.uk website (you can use the symptom checker) but if you develop any other symptoms related to meningitis then you need to seek medical advice urgently. Best wishes
I would second strawberrycreams advice and check out Meningitis symptoms now.MeningItis makes you feel extremely ill so if you just have a lightly itchy rash, more likely to be something else.An allergic rash tends to be intensely itchy. So this may point to a viral rash or indeed measles.I did have a rash with septicaemia but it wasn't itchy.Do the glass test-take a glass and press it over the spots. If you can still see the spot or mark then phone 999 -this could be Meningitis /septicaemia.
I do hope it is not Meningitis, but as we are not medically trained you must get medical advice if you are worried about any symptoms.Best wishes.
Only a doctor can diagnose your symptoms. If you are concerned that you may have meningitis seek medical advice as soon as possible.
Go to see your doctor. I get a lot of rashes, mostly because of allergies to medications. Get there soon and don't worry until you know what it's from.
Just wondering if you have been to doctor?do let us know how you are doing today.
