Mirtazapine withdrawal
I think you might be on the wrong site, this is for people with Learning Disabilities
I think this may be a relevant forum for this post. I gather that these types of drugs are often prescribed for people with learning disabilities, especially if they have experienced depression as well. There have been recent reports a television documentaries about the difficulty of managing withdrawal. It is an important issue, as you seem to have to choose between continuing the medication indefinitely, even if you objectively no longer need it, or going through a managed withdrawal which can have worrying side effects. My understanding is that it needs a very slow, gradual reduction in the dose and can take a very long time. This would be particularly challenging for those with any kind of learning disability. People were not told about this when they first started taking the medications, and the situation now seems to be is that most GPs just leave people to carry on unless there is any obvious reason not to. It is probably a good idea to speak again to the GP about this to discuss a slower, longer withdrawal.
That seems much too fast. Was this recommended by your GP . On researching the drug it states that your doctor should gradually reduce the drug so to avoid extra side effects. I would see your Doctor for help
