Horse therapy
Hi, look for RDA (riding for the disabled association) riding schools as they are a lot more accepting of disability needs and differences-including the non disabled staff and visitors.
Under RDA I rode, sometimes groomed and mucked out in one that’s now shutdown as my respiridone put my weight up far to much.
Make sure the riding school is BHS registered as they have to meet certain things before being allowed to be under BHS,i have been to a couple of non registered BHS schools and the staff abused me verbally for not being able to speak, for being slow to pick things up etc,I woud definately say go for RDA if you can do I think their website has a school locator, but they will support your daughter and there won’t be any judgement.
however I will warn, one thing any riding school RDA or not might do is charge full riding rates for your daughters therapy session as she will need one of the staff with her for a while at the least, until they think she can manage safely being in the stable on her own, I think it’s to do with risk assessments and insurance.
