Are you in USA or UK?

UK

In UK, they have supported living and they have 2-4 carers looking after them 24 hours a day. My son is in supported living and doing really well, he is nonverbal, autistic and low functioning. Of course you have to keep check that he is eating and sleeping but you can all them any time. Your social worker for disability adult will arrange supported living place for you and may be worth looking into.

I am on the same journey: As well as supported living as Indieabc describes there are supported communities such as Camphill (they are all over the country). I visited one last week and really liked it. Others I have come across are:

homefromhomecare.com and

precious-homes.co.uk

A friend is considering the home from home and she really liked it. I haven't seen precious homes, but they are all over the country.

Hello jornjenny78

Please have a look at Mencap's Wills and Trust service (it's free) - mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

You can all them up, and they also have guides and seminars. Really worth a look.

If you want to talk to them give them a call on 0207 696 6925 or willsandtrusts@mencap.org.uk

Cheers

Sarah

Hello again

They'd be happy to support you over the phone. Also, recently, the seminars have all online so it may be possible for you to still attend.

Best wishes

Sarah
