I'm getting a divorce but we are both finding it difficult to find any information on what's a 'fair' split of equity and what provisions he should make (if any) for me and his son, going forward. I am the main carer for our disabled teen who has autism and learning difficulties (mental age of 5). He will never live independently and I hope to be his carer for many years. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello SamCJ66
It is so hard to answer this questions as it will depend so much on your personal situation. It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who has been in a similar situation and has any tips to share.
You sound like you will need to see a solicitor or get some other legal advice. You can also get help from organisations like Citizen's Advice.
Please call our helpline if you want to talk to someone about this - they won't be able to give you legal advice, but they may be able to signpost you to places that could help. You can call them on 0808 808 1111.
Best wishes
Sarah
