Hi just want advice from anyone ... my daughter 16 with ld has ocd. At night she keeps getting up.. toilet, checking, questions. It lasts ages. She does eventually sleep but seems to want me to reassure her and send her to bed...how can you get her to take responsibility? Driving me nuts

Hello Manyjobs

This sounds exhausting. Do you get up with her every night? If so, is there anyone else you could ask to share the load occasionally?

The first port of call must be your GP. Firstly, about your daughter and if they can offer support. And secondly, about your health and that you are missing out on so much sleep!

Have you been in touch with OCD UK? ocduk.org/ They have lots of info about treatments and how to get help.

You might also find Mencap's webpage about sleep helpful -

mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

It is more about children but it does have some good suggestions.

Here are few other websites that might be useful

> MIND website - mind.org.uk/information-sup...

> Young minds - youngminds.org.uk/find-help...

Mencap's helpline might be worth a go too. Call 0808 808 1111

or email helpline@mencap.org.uk. I'm afraid they are very busy at the moment, so they are not open until Monday.

Best wishes

Sarah
