Hi I don't profess to be an expert but it generally manifests itself in lost short term and long term memory and get progressively worst eventually leading to the victim becoming more and more confused and loosing sense of themselves and those around them although for unknown reasons some deteriorate at a mcch greater rate than others even loved ones with longterm relationships,,,,,,there is a plethora of information on the internet and various forums. Early detection is felt to be an advantage as efforts can be made to slow down the rapidity of the onset. If you are particularly concerned you should visit your doctor or a memory clinic...there are some clinical trials in which you may be eligible to enrol.

If its felt that there is cause for concern you need to get your legal situation....power of attorney and will sorted out. Power of attorney can be organised through a lawyer or you can do it your self through the public guardians office in Birmingham for england or its counterpart in Scotland the addresses are available on the internet. You can select a trusted friend family member or attorney to act as your deputy and at such time he/she can act on ytour behalf for financial and welfare issues......if it gets past the point where a doctor will not certify you as competent to make these decisions it gets messy and complicated either way its a sensible decision to organize your will and POA is a good decision...when its too late its too late.

If I can be of any further assistance please let me know.....I am sure there are many more in the community that could advise you better but I am willing to help.

Best regards
