I made a mistake I was diagnosed with Emphysema in my 50s
Hi I was diagnosed by my Gp then sent straight for a CT scan then my GP paid (lent) me the money to see top surgeon ,can't remember his name .( he was an arrogant b... ) I was operated during Easter (diagnosed March 20)at RNSHospital,Sydney but was not seen by a senior Onc but expected to undergo3 drug chemo for 18 weeks ,weekly .No one checked my view or told me life expectancy or whether my health history would preclude me participating in Chemo (predizone anti tolerance)and I have severe 20 year history of M.E .and no family support and basically lived on my own with an 18 yr ols in and out of trouble with the police .My surgeon did not have the "path " report when I left Hospital but I was told grade 3 Ovarian .Later I found out it had not been researched for 20 years.I on a disability pension had to pay privately for my own Onc who also specialized in M.E . The prognoses was lousy ,the symptoms from chemo would prob quadruple my M.E symtomology.(can't spell) and the orginal surgeon had said to me "he never would've operated on me if he knew ,I was not going down the Chemo route .
If I had quickly been seen by a high level Oncologist and it had been agreed that I have a stay in hospital each time with Chemo to see what i could tolerate perhaps I may have tried at least one drug . I'm the type of person who needs to be fully informed not patted on the head and no-one to check my medical history . In truth ,I have chosen correctly to take my "wellness "now in return for a slightly ever so slightly quicker death .
