How has your type of lung cancer responded to treatment?
Please select one:
just started chemo
My wife sadly lost her struggle with cancer on the 19th February.
My metas progressed after first line cisplatina docitaxel chemo. They changed to cisplatina gemzar, but after the very first infusion I got a horrible response-flu like symptoms, severe intoxication, fever and a started coughing. I stopped and don't know what to do. Maybe I'll have one of those tests to determine what my ALK, PD,other gene mutations are and what possible target or imuno therapy I can have. I'm very desperate...
Oh my so sorry!!! I have squamous lung cancer and my oncologist.hematologist ordered molecular testing right from the beginning. Without know how to treat your cancer they can be doing more harm than good. Prayers. I am very nervous as well it's gonna be about a total time of 2 months from first spotted on xray to getting the molecular testing results.
To the administrator of this poll, would you please put in a response here that spells out what the different color responses are? On my devices I just see abbreviation "My lung cancer has..." next to blue, red, orange, green. So, I can't see what the results and percentages mean.
If you hover over or click/tap each part of the pie graph, it should have the complete description of each answer. Does that work on your device?
Sorry it does not work on my mobile devices.
Here are the results:
My lung cancer has been treated, but is still present: 41.5%
My lung cancer has fully responded to treatment: 30.8%
My lung cancer has come back after being treated: 15.4%
My lung cancer has not been treated at all: 4.6%
Other (see comments for responses): 4.6%
I am not certain what is happening with my lung cancer: 3.1%
Thank you Travis. I do wonder if in the reply "My lung cancer has not been treated at all" by "treatment" you mean strictly radiation and chemo and NOT surgery. I responded with that answer however my "treatment" so far has been just surgery so I did not consider surgery as a treatment. So far the surgery has removed my lung cancer.
Why is no one doing more for small cell? There is so much time and money being spent on non small cell but I hardly see research for small cell?
Only 4 months out.
My mom's lung cancer became more agressive from the treatment- it spread to her lungs (additional tumors), liver and spleen after two rounds of Carboplatin and Pemetrexin Chemo Therapy Drugs. The Gamma Knife is 12 weeks out and seems to be successfule with the original 2 lesions. We will get another imaging done on Tuesday, so I will let you know.
Vanessa, thank you for the update. I hope we hear more from you very soon!
