How long did it take from when you first saw your primary doctor about your condition’s symptoms to when you saw a specialist?

When they finally did a scope then sent to lung surgeon who sent me to my oncologist . I say finally because I had carcinoid syndrome for 15 years before the oncologist diagnosed it on the first visit from the symptoms I was having! No one on LI had found this.

Had X-ray that showed spot on lung. A week later had CT. Saw pulmonologist a week after that. Took 6 weeks to get diagnosis

Was dx'd in the ED and admitted. Saw a pulmonologist the next day.

CT the next day, Biopsy the day after that, but because it was the holidays, didn't get biopsy results until 1 week later, and specialist the next week so a whirlwind 2 weeks.

I had shoulder pain and seeing orthopedist who ordered MRI of brachial plexus and coincidentally we found lung lesion. About 60 days later had upper right lobe removed, stage 1b. I am very lucky indeed.

Had pneumonia for 2 1/2 months after 2 months went for 2nd opinion pulmonologist reviewed my Ct scan ordered pet scan next week biopsy got results on fri called Univ of MD and saw thoracic surgeon on Monday had surgery 20 days later. University of Maryland Greenbaum cancer center pushes for treatment ito start in 4 was or less.
