Diaphragm not working
Same here. Right one "frozen". Told breathing exercises might help get it moving again.
Hi, a little bit more details about your symptoms would help others to understand what's happening. What were you doing when u felt breathless, did it happen over a long time or was it sudden. And what tests was done to determine the diagnosis. Thanks.
I had most of my right lung removed due to cancer and either there was damage during surgery or the "frozen" diaphragm is just something that happens. The pain comes and goes and feels like a muscle spasm. It's severe but usually only lasts a minute or 2. My pulmonologist said it's not anything to worry about, just happens to some people after surgery which may be true or may be him trying to protect the surgeon from a malpractice suit (which I wouldn't do anyway as I do not plan to spend my last years tied up in a lawsuit!). I had what's called a SNIF test in the US and it confirmed the diaphragm isn't working.
See if a respiratory physio can help.I waited with the NHS for a year, then eventually went privately, she helped a lot.
