I’m in the USA, but I’m curious to know what mine would be classified as? I’ve never heard it phrased like that, is it done like that here?

Hi Lori62

Thanks for the great question! I see an asthma specialist in Texas and they classify their patients. Asthma is not an easy disease to diagnose, as symptoms can often come and go. Just ask your doctor the next time you have an appointment about your asthma severity classification. They are familiar with your asthma diagnosis, severity and treatment guidelines. 😊

Speaking for myself my asthma can go from being fairly mild and easily controlled to becoming very severe and debilitating. Understanding the triggers for it and managing these along with getting the right medication has been really important for me in regaining control of my life. My biggest trigger is stress; changing job last year was by far the best thing I've done in a long time health-wise.
